Jim “Batman” Helms
Son of a WWII and Korea Veteran who was a crop duster for 40 years, Jim is no stranger in the aviation field. He holds an ATP rating and licensed as an Instructor in Single and Multi-engine airplanes as well as Helicopters and holds various type ratings for different jets. He has served over 20 years as an Aerial Coordinator/Stunt pilot and Actor in the Film Industry of which 8 were for Chuck Norris in the CBS television series, “Walker, Texas Ranger”. He also has many other credits in the Film Industry. After the Walker series ended, Jim was hired as an Instructor, Check Airman and Production Test Pilot for Bombardier Aerospace in the Challenger 300. Jim was also on the Flight Test Certification team for Bombardier to certify the Challenger 300. He currently acts as Chief Pilot for the New Orleans Saints NFL Team in New Orleans. Jim and his wife Cindy have lived in Hammond, Louisiana since 2016. He flies the RV 8 “Dynamic Duo” with the Tiger Trac Team and serves as Lead/Wingman
Paul “Cutter” Cutrer
Paul has been an active pilot for over fifty years having begun his flying at the Hammond Airport in 1963. A resident of Amite Louisiana, he graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and entered the United States Air Force. He completed F-100 Super Sabre training and went on to fly the famous fighter aircraft for nine years as an Instructor Pilot. Also flew the F-4 Phantom with the Louisiana Air National Guard. He flew for Eastern Air Lines for seventeen years and retired from Southwest Airlines after flying fifteen years there. He presently serves as Director of Flight Operations for Gray & Co. based at the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport. He has flown his Red and Vanilla RV-8 “Butterbean” around the United States from “shore to shore”. Cutter flies Lead and Wingman for the Tiger Trac Team.
JP “Nuke” White
JP was born and raised in South Carolina and has been a resident of Louisiana for 35 years. He retired as a Radiation Protection Technician in the Nuclear Industry in 2018. He fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot in 2013 at the age of 53 and has been loving aviation ever since. Another lifelong dream was realized when he partnered in the build of an RV-8 called “El Caballito” (Little Horse). JP currently flys as a Wingman for the Tiger Trac team.
Josh "Tater" Boudreaux
Tater brings credibility to our team with 4 years experience as the #2 Wingman for the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. He is our Mentor to the Tiger Trac Formation Team. Josh acts as our Instructor and Check Pilot as well as flies Lead/Wingman. He is still active duty and currently flies the Mighty F-15 Eagle.
Troy "Mustang" Ellis
Troy was born and raised in Pearl River, Louisiana. Currently a resident of Carriere, Mississippi he began flying after a lifelong dream. It finally came to fruition under the training of a friend who was a Master Pilot. He earned his Private Pilot license and glider rating thereafter. Troy flies the RV-8 “Holy Tara” which dreams to one day bloom into a P-51 Mustang.
Troy flies as a Wingman for the Tiger Trac Team.
